God makes a definitive statement in
Genesis 1:1, a verse we all know by heart. "In the beginning God created
the heavens and the Earth." It sounds so simple, BUT, the deeper one digs
into the Hebrew language in that first chapter of Genesis one has to ask the
question . . . when exactly was "the beginning?" Was it hundreds of
thousands, or even millions of years ago as astronomical science and some
"Old Earther's" would tell us? Or was it a mere 6,000 years ago as
"Young Earth" theologians would have us believe? Back in the 18th and
19th centuries, most dispensational theologians believed in an ancient Universe
and a relatively young, 6,000 year "re-created" Earth, prepared
specifically for mankind.
Thomas Aquinas, Clarence Larkin, C.I Scofield, many
of the ancient Church Fathers and prominent Jewish sages taught of a
significant "Gap" between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. What caused
the radical change in perspective? Did dinosaurs walk the Earth with man? Was
Lucifer present in the Garden of Eden long before Adam and Eve arrived? Gary
Stearman and Jack Langford have been studying this subject in great depth for
over 80 combined years. Don't miss their discussion on one of the most
controversial and complicated subjects in the Bible. Why is this important?
Because the whole story of Redemption lies at the heart of God's Creation
model! Herein lies the foundation of the ancient battle between Jesus Christ
and Lucifer—with mankind caught in the middle!
